Public Safety Supervisor, MD Anderson Cancer Center
Congratulations to Public Safety Officer Jason Lipe for receiving the 2020 ASIS Houston Outstanding Security Officer Award. Jason has been instrumental in the department’s success as it relates to the organization’s mission, vision and values.
Early in the year, the uniformed operations team underwent organizational changes and service adaptations following the onset of the pandemic. PSS Lipe successfully took on new responsibilities when a change in leadership required it and amidst uncertainty.
In his new leadership role, PSS Lipe managed to review and provide input on post assignments, staffing models, and Uniformed Security Operations. PSS Lipe makes patient safety a priority ensuring the most vulnerable population is secure. He has been essential during the pandemic, assisting with lifesaving and code blue events, helping with visitor management and screening, securing entry points at the MD Anderson Main Hospital and Mays Clinic, and overall embracing the core values of Caring, Integrity, Leadership, Partner, Professionalism and Innovation.
His strong military background combined with his exceptional communication skills have proven invaluable to the team as they continue to adjust to far-reaching changes to our operation.
On behalf of the ASIS Houston Chapter, thank you Jason for leading Houston’s security industry with excellence!
